A winter open house where guests can stroll the Breckenridge Arts District campus to meet local artisans, tour open studios, and create one-of-kind, hand crafted holiday gifts. Presented in conjunction with the Lighting of Breckenridge.
Saturday, Dec 3, 2016: Race of the SantasJoin us as 100’s of holiday enthusiasts of all ages, dressed in festive costumes, race down historic Main Street, Breckenridge. We encourage those who can withstand the thin mountain air to start at the front of the pack, as the top finishers will be awarded Ullr helmets and prize packages. Not a runner? Walk, jog or skip through the 6-block course. Children dressed in holiday costumes are welcome to join their parents in the Santa Race. So come out and show your support, all proceeds benefit the local charity, the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, also known as the BOEC. Click HERE for more details.
12:00 p.m.—6:00 p.m. - Check out the Handmade Holiday Craft Market in the Breckenridge Arts District where you can pick up some unique gifts including jewelry, ceramics, candles and more in the Arts District located on Washington Ave just off Main St. The best part: everything is $50 or less!
Dec. 3, 2016: Lighting of Breckenridge
2:00 p.m. - Summit Dancers - Enjoy a holiday dance show in the Blue River Plaza performed by the local after school dance company
2:00 p.m. — 3:30 p.m. - Summit Choral Society will be singing timeless holiday classics in the Blue River Plaza. Whether you come to listen or join in, nothing spreads holiday cheer like caroling!
3:00 p.m. — 3:45 p.m. – Gather in Main Street Station Plaza with the dogs before the Bernese Mountain Dog Parade. There will be light refreshments, free Santa dog costumes for people who would like to join in the parade (because even the X-Large is way too small to fit a Berner) and lots of fun photo opportunities!
3:30 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. - Holiday Carols by the "Jingle Singers" will be strolling Main St. in Victorian costumes, singing
classics and a fun modern spin on old favorites
3:45 p.m. — 4:10 p.m. – The Bernese Mountain Dog Parade will march down Main St. from Main St. Station Plaza to the Blue River Plaza. Anyone is welcome to join with their dog and be an honorary Berner for the day.
4:15 p.m. - Race of the Santas starts on Main St. by the Blue River Plaza. Registration and bib pick-up in the Breckenridge Welcome Center located at 203 S. Main St. starting at 2:00pm
4:30 p.m. - Free hot cocoa and cookies in the Blue River Plaza
5:15 p.m. - Santa makes an early visit to Breckenridge to light the Town Tree. Don’t miss the moment when Breckenridge turns on the lights and turns up the holiday spirit as Santa flips the switch in the Blue River Plaza just outside the Breckenridge Welcome Center at 203 S. Main Street.
5:30 p.m.—7:00 p.m. - Visits with Santa at the Barney Ford Museum, 111 E. Washington Ave. Let the little ones share their Holiday wishes with Santa and take a photo in the beautifully decorated Barney Ford House!
Fat Bike Open
Celebrate the opening of the Gold Run Nordic Center – now welcoming fat bikes to groomed trails three days a week – with free demos (starting at noon) and a casual race. Breckenridge’s high mountain location makes for one of the country’s earliest starts to the fat biking season. More info

Dec. 31: New Year's Eve CelebrationBring in the New Year with a boom! Watch a spectacular array of fireworks, (launch location TBD). You can find best visibility from downtown Main Street. Weather permitting, catch the Torch Light Parade flowing down the Breckenridge Ski Resort.
The first weekend in December, the town transforms into a sparkling holiday scene. Participate in the Race of the Santas, where 100’s of Santas race down Main Street to benefit Adopt an Angel and continue the festivities with the Lighting of Breckenridge, where Santa greets holiday revelers from his horse-drawn carriage. Find the perfect gift and come experience the new Breckenridge Arts District as it hosts Handmade Holiday Market and winter open house. Stroll the campus with a warm cup of cider or cocoa, visit the decorated historic structures, and enjoy music and artist demonstrations at the various studios. In addition, visiting artisans will be selling fine crafts including jewelry, ceramics, candles, accessories and more, with no gift item priced more than $50. Presented by the Breckenridge Creative Arts. The following weekend, Winter Dew Tour puts pro snowsports athletes on display with televised halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. When it’s time to ring out the old, live music, bar parties and special restaurant menus punctuate New Year’s Eve celebrations, accompanied by a torchlight parade down the slopes of Breckenridge Ski Resort. A spectacular fireworks display and concert ring in the new year in style.

Bernese Mountain Dog Parade Information
Are you interested in participating in the Parade? If so, here’s some helpful information so you and your pup can be part of the fun:December 3rd, 2016:
3:00 p.m. — 3:45 p.m. – Gather in Main Street Station with the dogs before the Bernese Mountain Dog Parade. 3:45 p.m. — 4:10 p.m. – The Bernese Mountain Dog Parade will march down Main St. from Main St. Station to the Blue River Plaza. Anyone is welcome to join with their dog and be an honorary Berner for the day.
4:10 p.m. — Everyone from the parade will gather at the bottom of Washington St. in a special sectioned off area to watch the Race of the Santas come down Main St. and gather together in the center of the fun. Many people will surely want to take pictures with the dogs (and you too!) so everyone is welcome to stay until the lighting of the town tree at 5:15 p.m.
6:30 p.m. — The After Party at the Doubletree will include a pasta bar and dogs are welcome! The dinner will cost $25/person and includes everything except those adult drinks with an extra splash of holiday cheer
